An afternoon for us. And for mental health.

Together at Rare Form: our Mental Health Reset on 10 October.

There was a letter on every mat, with information about depression beside it. My singing bowls, the drum and small lights stood in the middle of the room. Looking at the photographs from that Saturday brought it straight back: how lovely it was to spend the afternoon together.

On 10 October, World Mental Health Day, I joined Rare Form in Munich to host a Mental Health Reset. We put the afternoon together at short notice. That makes me all the happier that it happened, and that you were there.

We wanted to pause together and support something that matters to us: the work of the German Depression Aid and Suicide Prevention Foundation.

Time we took for one another

Our Mental Health Reset combined breathwork, guided meditation and a sound bath with my crystal singing bowls. Time to arrive, listen and notice.

Guiding people through a session like this is always special to me. I bring my voice and instruments. But the afternoon belonged just as much to everyone who found a place on a mat and made time to be there.

Thank you to each of you. And thank you to Abby and the Rare Form team for bringing this idea to life with me.

Why this day matters to me

Mental health is a deeply personal subject for me. Meditation found a place in my own life, including during difficult periods. Over time, that grew into a wish to share the practice with others.

At the same time, particularly on a day like this, I want to speak carefully: you cannot simply meditate depression away. A lovely session does not replace treatment. What we could offer that afternoon was a shared pause, and an opportunity to draw attention to information and support.

That is why the German Depression Aid materials belonged there just as much as the singing bowls. Thank you to the foundation for providing the information.

A letter to take home

I wanted to give you something that would remain after the afternoon. That is why there was a personal letter on your mat with a QR code for my free five-minute meditation.

Perhaps you listen on a busy day. Perhaps the letter is still at home and one day reminds you to pause briefly.

One sentence from it matters particularly to me:

There will always be someone who can't see your worth. Don't let that be you.

I mean it as a gentle reminder of our own worth, including on days when we struggle to feel it. You do not have to earn your worth first.

You can continue supporting German Depression Aid

The Mental Health Reset was a charity session benefiting the German Depression Aid and Suicide Prevention Foundation. All proceeds were intended for the foundation, and there was an additional opportunity to donate.

If you could not join on Saturday, or would like to keep supporting the foundation’s work, you can donate directly through its official donation page.

You can find the foundation on Instagram at @stark_gegen_depression. For information and sources of support for yourself or someone you know, visit the German Depression Aid support page.

Thank you for that Saturday

I am grateful that a last-minute idea became this shared afternoon. Thank you to Rare Form for the collaboration, to German Depression Aid for the information materials, and to everyone who came and supported the event.

If you would like more time for meditation and sound, you will find my next dates under Meditation & Events. I look forward to seeing you again.

A brief clarification

My meditation and sound sessions invite conscious experience and relaxation. They make no promises of healing and do not replace medical or psychotherapeutic care. The foundation was the beneficiary of our charity event; Rare Form and I created the session.
